The Animefringe/Pioneer Hellsing DVD Giveaway Contest

How would you like to win a free copy of Hellsing Vol.1? Pioneer was gracious enough to supply Animefringe with five brand new copies of this killer title to give away. If you don't know, Hellsing is one of the coolest and hottest new anime series out there. In fact, Pioneer's booth at Anime Expo was completely devoted to this series. Hellsing's a horror series about the an organization's fight to protect the mortal world from being overrun by things that do much more than go bump in the night. The Hellsing Organization's top man is a rogue vampire named Arucard who enjoys dusting his own kind. Along for the ride is Seras Victoria, a cop-turned-vampire who must learn a whole new set of ropes.

To enter the contest, all you need to do is enter your full name, mailing address, and e-mail address. The contest closes at 11:59 PM EST on Sunday, September 29 and winners will be drawn the following day. So sign up now, why don't you?!

Megatokyo in Print

According a recent press release, Studio Ironcat will be publishing popular online manga Megatokyo in the US. Preorders for the first volume of Megatokyo are currently available on their web site (www.ironcat.com).


Come Get Ya Doggie Love

Inu-Yasha, the first Rumiko Takahashi anime to be broadcast in America is now running at 11 p.m. on Cartoon Network's Saturday night Adult Swim programming block. Though lightly edited, most coarse language has been removed from the program.


Miyazaki's Next Project

Hayao Miyazaki is set to direct an adapatation of the British novel Howl's Moving Castle for Studio Ghibli. Mamoru Hosoda, of the Digimon movies was orignally announced as the film's director, but left the project for undisclosed reasons.


No Stars in the Sky

Cloverway, the studio dubbing Sailor Moon, has been inundated with queries regarding the final season of the series, Sailor Stars. Due to disagreements between the producers, publishers, and author of Sailor Moon, the English dub of the series has been put on hold.


Nothing is Ever Final

Squaresoft has announced a number of new games for Nintendo, in addition to the Final Fantasy I and II remakes set for the PSOne. Of the most interest is Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicle which will link to the GBA game of the same name. Additionally, Final Fantasy Tatics, Seiken Densetsu (known in the U.S. as Legend of Mana), and some Chocobo game will see release on the GBA.


In The Name of Go(O)d

Thanks to the insistence of the Cartoon Network, Sunrise Studio has finally announced season two of The Big O. The giant mech series will be broadcast in Japan this October.


Farm All Day

Gameforms reports that the Gamecube is going to see the perenial sleeper hit, Harvest Moon. Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life will be released in the summer of 2003 in Japan. Due to the dearth of GC titles (and in the wake of the equally quirky Animal Crossing), a U.S. release seems likely.


Love the Fro

According to The Magic Box a Lupin the 3rd interactive movie/game is set to be released for the Gamecube. Including over 15,000 frames of animation and full voice acting, the game is likely to see a December 2002 release in Japan.
