Hey kids! This is Holly, your Content editor, and welcome aboard! We expect a smooth flight with no turbulence. In the event of a water landing, your seat cushion can be used as an answering machine. The exits are through the interdimensional portals, which are conveniently located in the lavoratoties. BUT! I'm going to forgo further talking about random crap this month because I actually have EXCITING NEWS for you!
We now have a Discussion Board available for our readers! Our good friends over at X-Forums have partnered with us in this, so the Animefringe forum is a sub-board to the main forums. You can sign up for the forums here, but please make sure to read and follow the rules as they will be enforced by your friendly Animefringe Discussion Board moderator... Me. MUAHAHA! Please feel free to sign up and start discussing Animefringe and anime/manga/j-pop/any other related topics! Make sure to stop by the introduction thread on your way in. X-Forums has just completed an upgrade at the time this message is being authored, so there may be some kinks in the pages that have yet to be worked out. Come join us... come to the dark side... mwahaaa.. Okay, I'm insane. At any rate, you can access the Discussion Board from anywhere on Animefringe by clicking the "Discussion Board" link on the sidebar under "Site Features." Enjoy!
How can I buy your mag? lol, I just want to get one :-)
Dear Animefringe Lover,
Wow. Can you make a few hundred more just like you? xD Well... I can tell you this. We have not ruled out the possibility of going to print sometime in the future, so fear not! Your hopes are not dashed! However, there are no guarantees or concrete plans, so until something happens, we'd love to have you stay tuned to us online. :)
hello, forgive me if i overstep the boundries by asking this but your dare provided too good a chance to pass off. i have been searching the net for days now, looking for a site where i may subscribe for a term and be sent (to Australia) magazines imparting all the hot goss there is to know about anime, what's new, what's avaliable, you know, the usual. but no matter where i search i can not seem to find anything. please, may you help me?
No way, man, I was really daring you guys. That's pretty tame. ^_^
Anyway, in response to your question, I don't see why you can't get Newtype USA - It's one of the better print magazines covering anime that is printed in English. Check out their site here: http://www.newtype-usa.com/home.asp.
I realize you have most likely gotten numerous questions on this specific subject, but I would like a personal reply from you -- Puni Puni Poemi. Any chance it will come to the states English dubbed, or has it already? Excel Saga has been completed, and I was under the impression it would be in the states. Now when is it coming out? Being someone who has just purchased and watched the entire Excel series, I loved it -- absoloutely adored it. Precisely my kind of warped humor, and everything Ive heard is that Puni is going to be even more insane. I'm anxiously awaiting its release, but I only like purchasing english dubbed, as I can't speak Japanese and bugs me when I can't understand and have to read for understanding. So please give me good news (But only if the news is real). Will it be English dubbed?
~ Dita's Stalker
Dear... Uh... Dita's Stalker.... O_o
Yes, Puni Puni Poemi is on EVEN MORE crack than Excel Saga is. I too thought it was impossible. I too was wrong.
Puni Puni has been picked up by ADV Films, though no release date has been announced as far as I can tell; I'm sure that if/when it IS eventually released, it will be dubbed in English. For more information on Licensing and current/upcoming releases, keep an eye on http://www.animeondvd.com.
I'll get to the point. I found quite a few vandread series that people claim are the movies. There's Vandread: Taidouhen, Vandread: Turbulence, Intense Fighting Stage, Gekitouhen. So, like whats all this? Is there a difference or its just a name? Anyway you guys at Animefringe have done an excellent job. Keep up the good work
Dear SP Ban,
Wow, I am SO not the person to ask. I know nothing about Vandread. But the people who run this site I found do... Vandread: Turbulence/Gekitouhen/Intense fighting stage are apparently all the same thing, but Vandread Taidouhen is something else. Check out the site for more info: http://www.geocities.com/vandreadstages/info.html.
Hello. I just wanted to share my input on your response to "Gainax Cynic" in the May issue. Your explanation for Gainax Critic is mostly true, but I wouldn't dismiss his points about series length so easily. Vision of Escaflowne, for example, was indeed
planned during production to be a 39 episode series, but due to poor ratings the show was re-written to encompass 26 episodes shortly after the series began airing. Cowboy Bebop was originally a 13 episode series, but was extended to 26 near the end of the original production due to it's popularity. In the end this turned out to be good for both shows (Escaflowne's pacing would have been too slow at 39 episodes, and imagine Bebop ending at episode 13). Funding and tweaks to the plot and pacing can often affect the length of a series planned as 26 episodes. Final Fantasy Unlimited is a good example of this, which ends at 25 eps because the funding from Square was suddenly cut off. (The president of Gonzo, FF:U's animator, recently admitted this to fans.) It is true, though, that 26 episodes is considered a "standard" length for any series destined for TV. I just thought I'd share that info. Thanks for reading my rant.
Oooo, I've had the smackdown laid on me. That's what I get for ranting. ^_^
Just to set the record straight concerning Auron: he considers himself a ronin because he failed to protect his summoner years ago. As such, he only takes his left arm out when he requires it. Other evidence to the ronin idea is the bottle of sake resting on his hip. Of course, there's the much easier theory that his arm was simply injured during his fall of Mt. Zanarkand. Either way

I know... I was joking. ^_^ But thanks for clearing it up for everyone else. Never take me seriously, people, it's a bad practice. ^_~
Hey I love Animefringe. This has to be the best online magazine I ever subscribed to, not to mention its about anime too. Animefringe is different than most review and anime magazines online and I can't quite grasp what it is that makes it so much better. I think its a shame that EVA is only a remastering and not a remake or addition on the ending, because I feel the ending is not sufficient to sum it all up, even though EVA is my fave series of all time. I hope I can write reviews as good as yours someday. But I also was wondering if you had a 88 X 31 button I can use to link to your site from my site. I definitely want to spread the word about this zine, and maybe you can send me a button for animefringe?
Wow, thanks! Actually, from what I understand now, they are expanding the footage in the last few episodes. Thanks for the compliments on our reviews! We do have some buttons now that you can use to link to us from your website, you can get them from right here: http://www.45degree.com/banners.html ^_^
Hi Holly, I read the letter from "T-Shirt Girl" who complained about the lack of girl\'s anime t-shirts available. Anyways, because of my website, AnimatedBliss.com, Pioneer sent me a Sugar Vol. 1 DVD retailer kit. Inside the kit was a girl's t-shirt (size L) with a small Sugar logo/pic on the front of it. Being male, I have no use for the t-shirt and was thinking that"T-Shirt Girl" might like it. Would it be possible to get her email address from you or perhaps you forward her mine so she can contact me about the shirt? Thanks for your time
That's so sweet :) T-Shirt girl, if you're out there, send me an email and I will pass it along to this nice man. :)
