Animefringe's The Top 25 Must-Visit Anime Websites Poll Results When: November 20, 2000 - December 15, 2000 Places that the poll press release was posted: AnimeNewsNetwork.com, CompuServe's Anime/Manga Forum, Animeboards.net, AnimePitstop.com Message Board, rec.arts.anime.misc, rec.arts.manga, alt.fan.sailormoon, rec.arts.anime.fandom, alt.fan.dragonball, The Animanga Board, Pretty Soldier Mailing List, and Animefringe Update Mailing List. How the votes were counted: The survey began as an e-mail and message board poll asking for favorites web sites to be sent to Adam Arnold's e-mail address. The votes would then be tallied in Microsoft Excel. On November 23, 2000, Animefringe created a web based form so people could easily fill out up to ten spaces with either the title of a web site, the url, or both and then hit send. The votes were sent to Adam Arnold where they were complied with the rest of the votes in Microsoft Excel. Regarding voter fraud: Votes posted on Animeboards.net voting for Animeboards.net or it's affiliate Eva200.com were counted as long as they were posted along with a list of other favorite sites. Any votes not meeting this criteria were not counted because the site is an affiliate of Animefringe.com. If a web-based form was submitted with multiple entries for the same site, then the site only received 1 vote for the entire form. If multiple forms were sent in consecutively, or near consecutive order in the same day, then only 1 of the forms from a given date was counted. Tie-Breaker Votes: Upon the completion of the survey at midnight December 15, all votes were tallied and web sites receiving a tie voted upon by Team Animefringe for their order in 'The Top 25 Must-Visit Anime Websites' feature story. Place Voting: Place deciding votes were conducted between Adam Arnold, Steve Diabo, and Mia Ortega in order to decide the order in which the sites with a tied number of votes would be represented in the list 'The Top 25 Must-Visit Anime Websites.' In the case of the Animeboards and EX tie, a fractional vote between the three attendees decided the order. Animeboards received 2/3 majority vote and EX received 1/3. In the case of sites tied with three or six other sites, we asked each other to list an order in which they believed the sites should be recommended. For the most part the order matched the poll results except in the case of the sites: Animecity, Hitoshi Doi, and Nausicaa.net where a run-off was held between the three staff members to finalize the results of that decision. In the case of sites #23 to #25, they were decided in the same fashion as before, except the top three sites in that section were listed in the Top 25 article.
